Richard has been an actor for over 30 years and is known to millions as Larry on the classic series Three’s Company. His background is well-rounded, having earned a Masters degree in Theatre Arts at Northwestern University. His initial directing debut in 1990 won him the LA Drama Critic’s Award for directing Noel Coward’s Present Laughter. Since then he has directed for stage and television, including three Academy Award nominees Burt Reynolds, Bruce Davison, and Billy Connolly in their respective series.

As an acting teacher, Richard taught at the Actor’s Forum theatre for seven years, before relocating to the East Coast. He also teaches solo-show writing workshops.
